Welcome to the new Mt. Si Cottages' Blog!

This new blog exists to help make our neighborhood a great place to live! Its purpose is two-fold:

  1. To be a place where your voice can be heard! Share your ideas, comments, questions -- and participate in discussions to help align HOA decisions with the priorities of our community.
  2. To provide you with the latest Mt. Si Cottages community news. Check-in frequently for important information, like upcoming meetings and events.

Tell us: What features would make this Blog a useful resource for you?

  1. First of all, thank you for implementing the wonderful idea of a neighborhood blog. I have a couple of suggestions.

First is related to security issue. I believe that it is important that we turn the lights on outside our homes after dark. Some of us have parking spots that are not close to homes. Often times it is so dark that one could hardly see. In this case you can never know if someone is hiding in the dark or if there is an animal around. Last month I saw a bear near Jocobia traffic light. It could have easily wandered into our neighborhood. Can you imagine if it is dark and a black bear roaming around? So, please everyone, turn your outside lights on after dark.

Second suggestion is related to traffic speed. There are a few who drive too fast. Sometimes we have children playing around. I would suggest putting signs at the entrance to say “slow down, children around.” Also, put a speed breaker at the entrance of every parking lot. I would appreciate feed back on this.

Considering crazy winter weather last year, do we have a plan this year? Can we talk to the city and see if they can bring truck in the parking lots to clear snow? I have a parking spot at the very end of the parking lot. I had such a problem driving in and out. Also, I think we need flexibility in rules of parking in case we have crazy snow weather this year.

    Thanks.
